The Meat Co, chain of steakhouses, located in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, has launched an all-new menu this month. The new menu takes inspiration from its South African roots and will serve up a wide variety of steaks, poultry and seafood dishes.
Founded in South Arfrica by Costa Tomazos, The Meat Co currently operates seven outlets across South Africa, The United Kingdom and The Middle East. Dedicated to serving up prime cuts of meat, sourced from some of the best farms in the world, The Meat Co is renowned not only for its hearty steaks and tasty sides, but also its dedication to providing guest with the highest levels of service. The brand operates a 100% Halal menu across all of its outlets.
With three locations in the UAE, in Souq Madinat Jumeirah, Souk Al Bahar and Souq Qaryat Al Beri, The Meat Co has been serving up its range of succulent steaks for the past 13 years. From start to finish, the menu features a range of new dishes, but lovers of the brand need not fear: the team behind The Meat Co has ensured classic favourites such as the authentic South African Boerewors, Rib Meat Burger and Hanging Skewers selection have remained on the menu.
Highlights from the new menu include a range of starters such as the ‘Prime Steak Tartare’ made from prime raw fillet mignon, served with classic accompaniments, homemade ketchup, puffed wild rice, cress and caper berries. The ‘Rib Meat Cigars’ – which are braised rib meat with truffle pesto and roasted mushrooms, wrapped up in delicate filo pastry and served with a side of Kimchi mayo – and the ‘Wagyu Bresaola & Goats Cheese’ are sure to be firm favourites. The ‘Mezze Platter’ is perfect for sharing and those looking to sample a bit of everything, and includes the ‘Rib Meat Cigars’, ‘Lobster and Crab Croquettes’, ‘Pan Seared Prawns’, ‘Lamb Cutlets’, ‘Risotto Arancini’ and ‘Burrata Cheese’.
Moving to the mains, the popular burger menu has an all-new twist – an option to personalise the burger of choice with beef bacon, fried egg, Comté cheese, avocado and truffle pesto. Other key dishes from the main course menu include a delicious ‘Stuffed Chicken Breast’ which is filled with smoked cheese and topped with truffle pesto, pickled girolles, parmesan crisp, fried polenta & espelette pepper; and the ‘Tricolour Gnocchi’ made from a combination of potato, beetroot and spinach gnocchi, roasted wild mushrooms and spinach, and topped with truffle carpaccio & parmesan crisp.
The chain’s legendary steak menu has remained relatively unfettered, save the addition of the ‘South African 100 Day Grain-Fed Beef’, a petite fillet that is available in two sizes – 125g or 175g. There’s also a new selection of ‘Steak Experience Enhancers’ including ‘Mushroom & Truffle Butter’ & ‘Truffle Carpaccio’.
The restaurants’ Connoisseurs Choice menu will now offer up some of the best cuts of beef available, including two prime Japanese cuts. Guests can choose from a 250g Ohmi A5 Wagyu Sirloin with a marble score of 11+, served with wasabi butter, ponzu sauce & grilled enoki mushrooms, or a 250g Hokkaido F1 Crossbred Wagyu with a 9+ marble score. Perfect for two, the Prime 1.2kg Tomahawk Steak’ is sure to hit the spot with even the most ravenous of guests.
